Types of opportunities
Buying a franchise, buying an existing business and being introduced through a referral are different arrangements with different obligations. Each listing will be labelled clearly.
- Franchise
- The right to operate a business under an established brand and system, in exchange for fees and ongoing obligations to the franchisor. In Alberta, franchisors must generally provide a disclosure document before an agreement is signed or money is paid.
- Existing Business
- An operating business sold by its current owner, usually including its assets, customers and goodwill. Financial records should be reviewed independently before any purchase.
- Turnkey Business
- A business that has been set up (premises, equipment and systems) and is ready to begin operating. A turnkey business may or may not be part of a franchise.
How we may be involved
Referral
We introduce you to the business owner or provider, who handles the sale directly.
Sales representative
We represent the seller or provider in sharing information about the opportunity, as authorized by them.
Broker
We act as an intermediary in the sale for a fee, subject to any licensing that applies.
Our role is confirmed for each opportunity and stated on its listing.
Straightforward conversations about business ownership
A local point of contact

Verified information only

Clear about our role
Every listing states how we're involved, so you always know who you're dealing with and who handles the sale.
Construction know-how
Many businesses need premises work. Our renovation background helps you ask the right questions about fit-outs and space.
